Data-Driven Decision Making

Productivity & Process Optimisation

Value Chain Transformation

We help organisations move beyond reporting and dashboards into real decision-making systems. That means designing diagnostics, prioritisation tools, and operational models that clarify what’s happening — and what to do about it. Whether in a business, program, or policy environment, our aim is to make data useful, usable, and used.

Using tools from AI and OR, we support teams redesign workflows, reduce inefficiencies, and align operations with their objectives. Where needed, we design algorithms, build models, and develop tailored solutions that address real constraints — from scheduling and routing to resource allocation and process control, with measurable, operational outcomes.

We look at value chains as systems — and help identify where value is being lost, where productivity can be unlocked, and what coordination is missing. Through mapping, diagnosis, and co-design, we support organisations to close structural gaps, strengthen shared infrastructure, and build scalable, investable solutions that stick.

What we do

Our Mission

Many strategies fail — not because the goals are wrong, but because the systems behind them aren’t designed to deliver. The data doesn’t support decisions. The processes don’t match the priorities. The stakeholders aren’t aligned.

CASBI exists to fix that. We work with corporates, institutions, and ecosystems to make their systems work — by improving how decisions are made, how processes run, and how value flows. We help turn ambitions into systems that perform.

Our Methodology

Our work is grounded in applied analytics, systems thinking, and strategic experimentation. We begin with diagnosis: understanding how things currently function, where performance is constrained, and what needs to change. From there, we design and test targeted interventions — using tools like simulation, gap analysis, process redesign, and decision-support systems — to improve outcomes before scaling.

Rather than importing solutions, we work with what’s there. Our methodology is structured but adaptive, designed to fit the context and constraints of each engagement — whether we’re working with a manufacturing line, a national program, or a cross-sector coalition.

OUR APPROACH

We work closely with partners across all levels of the system — from operational teams to leadership — to ensure insights lead to action. Our engagements are hands-on and iterative: we map the problem, test what works, and build the internal capacity to sustain progress.

We value precision, clarity, and momentum. We don’t present options and walk away — we stay engaged through implementation, bringing both technical depth and a commitment to delivery. For us, collaboration means designing solutions that hold up in the real world.

Who we are

CASBI is a team of practitioners with a background in applied analytics, operations research, actuarial sciences, systems design, and organisational transformation. We bring together multinational and corporate experience with hands-on implementation across Greater East Africa — working in both business and policy environments.

Our work spans everything from redesigning operational processes and building decision-support tools to advising on value chain reforms and national strategies. We support both institutional partners and entrepreneurial ecosystems — helping ensure that innovation, investment, and enterprise are grounded in well-functioning systems.

CASBI was founded by professionals who had spent years working across sectors — often frustrated by the disconnect between ambition and execution. We created CASBI to offer something different: the depth to understand real system constraints, the technical skill to design workable solutions, and the discipline to follow through.

Competitive

Our Advantage

Knowledge

We understand how to apply tools like analytics, optimisation, and systems design to real problems. Not in theory — in operations, supply chains, and policy settings where things are messy, incomplete, and constrained.

Experience

We’ve worked in places where good ideas fail because the systems aren’t ready. That’s shaped how we work: focused on practicality, aware of trade-offs, and used to working through complexity rather than around it.

Systems thinking

We don’t optimise one piece while the rest breaks down. We look at how the parts connect — across teams, companies, or sectors — and design changes that actually hold together in the real world.

Frameworks & Methods

We bring structured ways to make sense of problems — to separate symptoms from root causes, prioritise what to fix, and figure out how to do it with the resources available. Our tools are built to guide decisions, not decorate presentations.

Strategic networks

We’ve worked across corporates, startups, government, and development spaces — internationally and across sectors and disciplines. That means we know how to speak across agendas, manage expectations, and get people aligned — even when incentives don’t fully match.

Execution discipline

We follow through. Our work doesn’t stop at design or diagnosis — it continues into implementation, iteration, and refinement. We work alongside teams, adapt as conditions shift, and focus on results that actually hold up in the field.

About us

We’re at the start of the 4th Industrial Revolution making waves all across the world, no country or continent excepted. Everyone is innovating around emerging technologies and finding new and exciting applications for it.

We’re on a mission to make emerging technologies and their adoption in Africa the next big thing: we believe emerging technologies have the potential to transform various aspects of our lives and will support in making the continent leapfrog traditional development paths.

Africa will be able to catch up with the rest of the world if not overtake it as it’s the continent of youth and the future.

Whereas today many African countries are still struggling with outdated infrastructure, limited access to capital, and a lack of skilled labor which makes it challenging to compete in the global economy, by embracing emerging technologies, Africa has the potential to create new industries, disrupt existing ones, and transform its economy.

It is essential for Africa to be part of this global transformation.
